[Abstract] ..... ..... There are approximately 639 skeletal muscles in the human body. Excluding the skeletal muscles of the arms, the primary function of all other skeletal muscles is to support and to carry the body weight.
All skeletal muscles in the human body depend on each other. Decreased or increased activity of one of them effect many other muscles.
Inactivity or decreased activity of the biggest muscle in the human body (gluteus maximus) has far reaching negative consequences for other muscles, and particularly for the abdominal and lower back muscles.
The gluteus maxsimus, or simply called the buttock muscle, is the outermost of the three large gluteus muscles that form each buttock in humans. Each buttock contains one big muscle (gluteus maximus) one medium size muscle (gluteus mediumus) and one small size muscle, (gluteus minimums). Prolonged sitting on a soft upholstered seat has the consequence that the significant percentage of the muscle mass in the human body is physically inactive....
